Hi Red,

That's true, Paget's is a bone disease causing osteomalacia, but it also the

name for a type of breast cancer. I too wondered about this, but Paget's does

refer to both disorders. To confuse us, no doubt.

HelloI was wondering if anyone out on this list has Paget's disease and if they could share their experiences with us. My parents have been visiting me this last week and my mother was taking some pills that she described as killing off the calcium. I looked it up on the Internet; Paget's Disease and bone cancer were the only two conditions that drug was approved for. I asked her to describe some of her symptoms and some of the tests they did and it sounds like what the webpages have for Paget's disease. Apparently it may be heriditary, often goes undiagnosed, and can lead to complications like Heart Failure which is what I have. Hmmm, I think I'll be asking for some screening on my next Cardiologist's visit which fortunately is next week.Regards,

Has anyone here heard of it? My 80 yr old father is really in a bad

way. Bone reproduces itself by a factor of 10 then resorbs - it looks

everything like fluffy clouds - his bones will just not support him

for much longer and he'll have painful debilitating

immobilisation......not very pleasant at all. He also has alzhiemers...

Terrible watching it consume him

Thanks

this builds a coating around the bone and in the joints, causing more problems

the it is worth.
