Guest guest
Kombucha tea is a fantastic source of friendly flora and is cheap to make. You can learn a lot about it by doing a search on it, and there is a group on egroups for it. Kris Smart is believing only half of what you hear, brilliant is knowing which half to believe. Neither did yogurt. >> ==== I am using Primal Defense and it does all that for me http://www.risingstarlc.com/pdindex.htm unfortunately it has a constipating effect on me. Guest guest
Yogurt (depending on the make-up) is only a maintainance, not a cure. Guest guest
<< There are many probiotics out there, but I would be suspicious unless someone in the know recommends them. >> Ben, I searched long and hard before I found the Primal Defense, It's supposed to be the best there is. I don't know if you read the link I sent you. But I would still like to know more about yours. Do you have an info link for it with ingredient listing? Thanks in advance Christel
Guest guest
I've used two different probiotics successfully. One, Jarrow. Two, Klaire Labs-Vital 10. Great products. A friend of mine used the Vital 10 after a large bout with antibiotics due to a misdiagnosed bone infection. He said his eyesight actually improved. Never heard of that before, but he was insistent. He had to stay on it 6-12 months, due to length of time he'd been on antibiotics. CB Christel, I have taken it myself to restore friendly fauna in my intestines after taking anti-biotics. I had previously read Whitaker on the subject, but just recently learned that Mercola also uses it with patients. It has thousands of good bacteria needed for proper digestion. There are many probiotics out there, but I would be suspicious unless someone in the know recommends them. Hope that helps, Ben

Guest guest
Dear Christel, I have used the PRimal Defense also according to the protocol that is suggested. It was great. I noticed more energy especially. The ingredients include some of the more uncommon friendly bacteria in addition to the common ones. I put it before Flora, Jarrow and Klaire in results. It helps with food sensitivities too. Guest guest
I didn't think the grasses contained the gluten, but more the bud or whatever it's called. CB. Re: Flora Source Does anyone know of a good gluten-free probiotic? Primal Defense looks great but contains much gluten. Joyce

Guest guest
maybe you're right. I wasn't aware. If that's the case, that would be great! Does anyone else know for sure? Guest guest
Christel, Take a look at what Dr Mercola says http://www.mercola.com/2001/jul/11/probiotics.htm The flora source home is http://flora-source.com/ but for some reason I was unable to get into it this morning. This from http://www.merc-buyers.com/FS-3.htm FLORA SOURCE -- contains: Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Bifidobacterium infantis, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Bifidobacterium longum, Streptococcus thermophilis, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus reuteri, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1, Lactobacillus sporogenes and Bacillus laterosporus in a base of rice starch, ascorbic acid 5%, in all vegetable capsules. 15 billion viable cells per capsule. Guest guest
Hello everyone, I think that I've made my decision of what I'm going to try. It's Flora Source. One of the reasons for this is that Primal Defense does have some iron in it. I don't want to take any extra iron. So right now I'm going to try Flora Source. Thanks for everyones help, Susie
