Guest guest
Cilantro also called coriander and Chinese parsley. The leaves are called cilantro and the seed are called coriander. Jasmina
Guest guest
I tried this and reduced my chlorestoral by 80 points in about 6 weeks. Took a cilantro pesto receipe and froze it in an ice cube tray, then daily took one out, put in a half glass or so of water, sweetened it, and drank it. You take 4 bunches of cilantro and pick off the leaves, add 1/4 cup olive oil, 1 minced garlic clove (or two), 1 tbls of vinegar and put in blender. Add enough water to blend and then freeze. After the freezing, I put the cubes in a zip lock bag. Makes about 2 weeks worth real cheap. Course there are different pestos out there-make yours to taste. Guest guest
Hello, I read some interesting posts about cilantro in the archives. What would be a more effective source of cilantro: Coriander oil or Coriander seed power? And how much should I take? Thank you,
Guest guest
Hmmmm. Is coriander related to cilantro? Cilantro is a green....plant. It's usually found in the produce area of the grocery near the stuff for salad........It might be they have a same " active ingredient " ? If so you'd have to find out which part of the coriander that comes from or is most concentrated in....if it's the seeds.....then you'd have to find out if the seeds are used in making the oil.....and then try to determine which has more...... Of course if the " ingredient " is listed as a percentage on the labeling that would make it alot easier...: ) Khepri Chelating heavy metals with cilantro/coriander > Hello, > > I read some interesting posts about cilantro in the archives. > > What would be a more effective source of cilantro: Coriander oil or > Coriander seed power? Guest guest
Coriander is the name of the seeds of the cilantro. Khepri wrote: > Hmmmm. Is coriander related to cilantro?
Guest guest
Can anyone explain the reflex point a little more clearly? I'm not sure I understand where he is talking about? Great article BTW.... Thanks Khepri Re: Chelating heavy metals with cilantro/coriander > Sorry here is the link: > > http://www.mercola.com/article/mercury/detox_protocol.htm > > Jasmina
Guest guest
LOL! Well, that would explain it then....: ) Do you happen to know which part of the plant/herb is best for that purpose? Khepri Re: Chelating heavy metals with cilantro/coriander > Coriander is the name of the seeds of the cilantro. > > Khepri wrote: > > > Hmmmm. Is coriander related to cilantro? Guest guest
: ) See what I get for not being up on my herbs.....: ) Chinese parsley huh? I wonder what the Chinese used the plant for traditionally? Obviously, the plant related to " heat " ...perhaps they use it to treat " cold " aliments.....?? Hi! Hope you weren't there for the mudslides! Awful..... > > But as a chemist, I wanted to comment on the message below: > > It is NOT good to try and find an 'active' ingredient in plants. Why? > because the way they work is usually together with the other hundreds, > thousands of unidentified molecules in that plant! Of course that is true, but don't natives usually recommend certain parts of the plant be used? Leaf, stem, root or all ....etc.? Actually we were just trying to determine which form would be stronger...the leaves, the seed or the whole plant.... If the oil and the powder had an " active ingredient " listed it would save some digging... Keep in mind...,at least I am, referring to an herbal supplement and not a man-made " pill " ....and these supplements are sometimes made with specific parts of the plant....IOW, all the " things " are still present.....: ) I'm glad you brought that up though cause we all need reminding now and again...! > In any case, I am mostly here to see if I can find something natural > besides marihuana and opium to help with my epilepsy. Only valium seems to > help with the simple partial seizures, which are the ones that terrorize > me (the grand mals only terrorize those who are watching). So if anyone > knows... You have grand mals too!?!? Ow! ......Have you had any luck in determining a possible trigger? The last paper I read on that, I think it was in the Lancet, they were talking about a habituation pattern being set up in the brain...kind of like setting the timer on a bomb.....but they were zeroing in on what would trigger the event.....I think the man that wrote " Megabrain " , Hutchison, was researching that.... I'm sure I have the story confused but I guess some people that were listening to " brainwave " altering recordings were actually setting themselves up for a grand mal by listening to the recording encoded with binaural beats frequencies...... I've also run across a couple of studies, although I don't recall where, on the physiological effects of the meditative state and it's ability to actually " re-wire " the brain.....it could be that the valium is lowering the brainwave pattern into " alpha " ...helping prevent the smaller seizures....but you say you still have the grand mals? Hmmm... Do you know what the difference is between the way the opiates act on the brain vs. the THC or the valium? > and one great cure for arthritis, using marihuana but without smoking or > eating it: make a paste with it and rum or whisky, let stand a while, then > use as a cream on needy joints. NOTHING works better! Is it anti-inflamatory? Khepri
