Guest guest
I recall an old post where someone used Vodka as a substitute for Everclear. As for being solvent-free, I don't know! In any case, it would seem Vodka would be a lot purer and cleaner than any main-stream cleaning product, so at least it should be an improvement. M. everclear in Canada or substitute Hi, Dr. recommends the 750ml or 1 litre bottle of everclear for sanitizing. I live in Canada and everclear is not sold here. Does anyone know of a solvent free substitute ?
Guest guest
I used 80 proof Vodka for my tinctures, Everclear is really expensive. -- In Dr , " S. Guest guest
Everclear (or where I live Clear Stream: same thing-180 proof grain alcohol) is cheaper than 80 proof Vodka considering you dilute the Everclear to 1/2 it's original strength with water when making tinctures. After adding the equal amount of water to the Everclear, it is still slightly stronger than 80 proof Vodka (the mixture would be 90 proof). As long as Everclear is less than twice the cost of Vodka, Everclear is actually cheaper for tinctures. Guest guest
We use Alberta Vodka for making tincture, and it has tested clean so far. No guarantees, but that's my two cents... Blessings!
