Although neither my wife nor myself noticed any ill feelings from using the zapper, I have heard of some people experiencing them. There is a condition which has been named the Herxheimer reaction. The symptons are flu-like: headache, aching joints, intestinal distress, etc. Another more common name for this condition is " a cleansing reaction. What is happening is that some parasites being killed have released toxins including their now dead bodies, which get picked up by your circulatory system. Your organs which keep your blood stream clean by removing wastes and toxins, liver, kidneys, etc. are now overworked. Also, many parasites are also located in your intestines are now dead and dislodged. If they pass through the intestinal walls into the blood stream, which would easily happen if one has leaky gut syndrome, the immmune system sees them as attacking foreign bodies, and attemps to remove them. It is the stirring up of toxins at a rate faster than your organs of elimination can filter them out which causes these feelings of being ill. The solution is to stop using the zapper until these symptoms subside. Make sure that it is not some other illness, like the flu. Then use the zapper for very short periods of time, and to very gradually increase the zapping time. These same exact symptoms, (Herxheimer reactions) occur when one does a juice fast and an intestinal cleansing program too aggressively. A blood cleansing tea such as red clover should help. Also, using bentonite from Sonne which most health food stores carry should bring quick relief. Carefully observe your stools: look for any signs of parasites that look like tiny particles of rice, or worms. A normal stool will float, be dark brown in color, have a good diameter and length, and not have an excessive foul odor. I hope this addresses all of your concerns. Ira M.
