Guest guest
HI everyone, I am new here. I have five children aged 8 and under. Two have had learning delays and that is the main reason we are doing the diet. We started GAPS about 10 days ago. They were going reasonably well but we have hit a snag. Last year we found out through an elimination diet that our kids had salicylate sensitivity. Two of my daughters would get burning wee if they had any extra sals. All they could handle was about one peeled pear a day, everything else had to be low sals. Well, last night my DD7 had burning wee again. She was crying out in her sleep and then when I took her to the toilet it really stung. The reason they were coping so well with the GAPS diet was because they were allowed to have fruits again (they love fruit and could not have much at all on the last diet). I was happily surprised that they did not seem to be reacting to sals on the GAPS diet, until last night. Do you think it's just a detox reaction, and will pass??? What do I do??? Any advice gratefully received,
