" & nbsp; It is a 6 week program which encourages people with arthritis to take more control of their arthritis and to practice " self management. " & nbsp; The program touches on everything, from managing medications, doctor visits, fatigue and exercise regimes. & nbsp; Most of all, it gives the participant the tools for empowerment, to take hold of it rather than it taking hold of you. & nbsp; I am an ASMP leader, but have not conducted a group in quite a while. & nbsp; Hearing all your stories gives me the desire to get back at it.
In Canada, the Arthritis Society runs it, and in the US, it is the Arthritis Foundation. & nbsp; I strongly encourage anyone who has arthritis or lives or cares for anyone with it, to do the program. & nbsp; Their is a minimal cost which I understand can be subsidized if need be, and of course all proceeds go right back into the program. & nbsp; The program is fantastic! & nbsp; I really hope that anyone who has not tried it do so, as I can guarantee you will come away from it with a new sense of how to deal with your arthritis on a daily basis.
Janet
