Guest guest
My baby finished a round of Omnicef(urggggggg) on Saturday and still acted like he wasn't feeling well. I took him back to the doctor to make sure his ears were clear and everything was fine. Previous tests show extremely high yeast and Clostridia. He has been taking Nizoral for months and was taking it along with the Omnicef. Last night he smeared poop for the first time, which is very unlike him because he hates having a dirty diaper and is very grossed out my feces. (My 3 year old was one of the horrible ones about smearing poop daily for 2 months). This morning he woke up with a temp of 104.5 and I gave him Motrin not knowing what else to do. His fever is going back up now. This was his first and last round of Omnicef. Could it have stirred up the Clostridia somehow? He has still been getting his Nizoral, S. Boularddi and ProBio Gold every day. I have his Flagyl, but I haven't started it yet. I know I can't give it with the Nizoral, so I have to take my pick. I called his doctor at Thoughtful House, but couldn't get a phone consult until tomorrow. His assistant talked to him and he said I could try the Flagyl if I wanted, but he would talk to me tomorrow about other possibilities. I should add in that he started back on Valtrex this weekend after a few weeks off of it. I wanted to see how he would do without. He had been on it since July, but he never had any fever or other problems with it before. Maybe it all screwed up the wonderful balance they have of yeast, bacteria and heavy metals. Can anyone offer me any suggestions? Thanks so much to all of you, I have no idea what I would without the support and guidance for give. Guest guest
Awwhh, I'm sorry, I don't like when little ones are sick. Certainly, anything has the potential to overgrow or become depleted when on both an antifungal and an antibiotic. Fever is possible, but that is pretty high. I would really push the probiotics, often. Other than that, cool bath water, keep him hydrated... Did you happen to try garlic mullein oil for the ears? Great stuff for infections. a > > My baby finished a round of Omnicef(urggggggg) on Saturday and still > acted like he wasn't feeling well. Guest guest
I have tried all of the natural remedies that everyone has recommended with no luck. We moved to Texas from New Mexico a few months ago and their allergies here are terrible. We never had this problem until we got here. Thanks, > > > > My baby finished a round of Omnicef(urggggggg) on Saturday and > still > > acted like he wasn't feeling well. Guest guest
Virus or bacteria. Yeast will not cause a temp. My son's yeast actually went away with omnicef. Lasted almost two weeks without yeast. My son's high fever turned out to be strep. And he had to take omnicef..pricey stuff indeed. Are there any other symptoms? cold, red tongue or mouth, not eating or refusing foods/liquids...fatigue..etc? In any event, we try to let fevers run their course as long as the child is not screaming or horribly uncomfortable or dire..as in losing conscousness, or acting strangely, lethargic...mainly because the fevers kill whatever germ it is he has going on. It's the bodies natural defense..so as upsetting as the numbers are...try to remember this. You can use wash clothes to help him feel more comfortable. It is not uncommon to run a high fever with certain viruses. Just keep a record of the time and his temps, and any other symptoms..it will help the doc. Do you use virastop at all? It can be helpful in knocking back a virus at times like this. And his odd behavior...well..viruses and being sick will cause all kinds of things to happen. Give some vitamin C if you can get it in. There are also a lot of colds and such going around. > > My baby finished a round of Omnicef(urggggggg) on Saturday and still > acted like he wasn't feeling well. Guest guest
Each mom is different, but I would never let a child this young run a fever this high, way to close to problems and way too uncomfortable for the kid. I've had fevers this high and the body aches alone it causes are extrememly uncomfortable. I will say this, we gave only 1/2 the amount of dye free Motrin and found that it took care of the majority of fever, but not all and increased the comfort level a lot. Along with the cool compresses. [ ] Re: 2 Year Old with 104.5 temp....Not Sure What to Treat Virus or bacteria. Yeast will not cause a temp. My son's yeast actually went away with omnicef.
