Guest guest
I read within the past 1-2 months, i thought on this list, of a man talking about how he used an anti-fungal to ease his candida symptoms (i guess without the diet modifications) and found 12months later that the anti-fungal no longer worked and he had a bad recurrence of candida symptoms. This frightens me and gives me good reason to follow the diet for 3mos solid (at least). I've used oil of oregano to help with symptoms, help to sleep, etc, but i've eased off for now. I appreciate the viewpoint that it's possible it's a myth about anti- fungals needing rotation, but I want to be extra careful about being unconcerned, because imagine the horrid possibility that those 1 or 2 really effective anti-fungals like oil of oregano won't bring relief down the road, then what? i guess prescription medication would be an option at that point. What concerns me is that my last bout of a uti, it took all 7days of taking cipro)i'm allergic to sulfa drugs)for my symptoms to abate, whereas in my first bout 5-6 years ago when i took that drug(i had my first uti's when I was 6), symptoms disappeared after the first couple of pills. I was warned by a nurse practitioner and a doctor that infections can become anti-biotic resistant (i now take 1 supercran(berry) pill by long's drugs every day no matter what because i get urinary tract irritation from even taking a bath! I read that's a candida symptom.) The bacteria mutates and becomes increasingly aggressive (i was told by a nurse you can build superbugs with antibiotics and even by taking golden seal regularly) the more it's exposed to an antibiotic, and it seems to follow logically that it's possible candida could also get resistant to anti-fungals. I cook and drink with garlic constantly and it helps alot, the enemas have helped me alot, also. I've felt amazingly good for a day or two following a liver toxin flush, though if i go off the diet even a little, recurrence of symptoms...gotta follow the instructions with the coffee enema. I'm itching all over and have gas tonite because i ate some brown rice chips today. I know I HAVE to follow the diet. I tried grass fed beef a couple of days in a row this past week and felt crappy. I feel much better on light protein like chicken turkey eggs. My favorite recipe now, is saute garlic in cold pressed organic olive oil, add bok choy, cauliflower, celery, broccoli, green onion, kale along with basil and herbs de provence and organic vegetable broth and celtic sea salt. While being on this list gives me such hope, it's so important to share our experience continually as we are in uncharted territory. It's hard to completely give up all those old comfort foods, but then again, it's such a gift to have to give sugar and flour up because all it does is cause disease. It's like being forced to really live! Thanks Bee--

You may find that 3 months is not long enough depending upon how long you've been sick. According to Hering's Law of Cures it takes one month of natural healing for every year you've been sick - the timing starts once you are completely following the diet. Also, the main principles of my diet will keep you healthy and fit for life. > I've used oil of oregano to help with symptoms, help to sleep, etc, but i've eased off for now. The reason the natural food antifungals don't need rotating is because they are more natural to the body so no resistances are build up. That's why people in some areas of the world that only have certain foods available to them can eat them every day and still be healthy. > > What concerns me is that my last bout of a uti, it took all 7days of taking cipro)i'm allergic to sulfa drugs)for my symptoms to abate, > whereas in my first bout 5-6 years ago when i took that drug(i had > my first uti's when I was 6), symptoms disappeared after the first > couple of pills. In fact I do not believe in the theory about superbugs being created because any and all viruses, bacteria, etc. are always mutating, which is a natural process. Read the articles on the Germ Theory of Disease. ==>The difference between drugs and natural whole foods or herbs is that drugs force the body into a certain condition, and they also very toxic to the body, while natural whole foods and herbs are given to the body to utilize as it sees fit or get rid of as the case may be. The body can throw off natural substances that it doesn't need very easily, while it cannot throw off drugs. However, I do recommend you go off all supplements, antifungals or probiotics one day every two weeks. You could change you main antifungal about every 8 months if you are really concerned. >I cook and drink with garlic constantly and it helps alot, the enemas have helped me alot, also. My > favorite recipe now, is saute garlic in cold pressed organic olive > oil, add bok choy, cauliflower, celery, broccoli, green onion, kale > along with basil and herbs de provence and organic vegetable broth > and celtic sea salt. ==>Sounds great. But do ensure you are getting enough " good " saturated fats from butter, coconut oil, lard, etc. There is less fat in chicken and turkey than in red meats. Red meats also contain very important nutrients your body requires. > While being on this list gives me such hope, it's so important to > share our experience continually as we are in uncharted territory. > It's hard to completely give up all those old comfort foods, but > then again, it's such a gift to have to give sugar and flour up > because all it does is cause disease. Guest guest
Is there a consensus on rotating antifungals? I know some folks who rotate every 4 days, some every 4 weeks, etc. I don't want my highly-allergic son to become sensitive to the naturals we're using right now, and of course I don't want to enable the yeast to become resistant either. Any thoughts on how best to rotate would be much appreciated. Also do any docs suggest rotating Rx antifungals? We've been on Diflucan for a few months now. Although my doc makes us stop every two weeks and take a break for a few days, which seems a little weird. She says it's to prevent overstressing the liver.
