Peripheral neuropathy

My son is 18 months OT and still dealing with peripheral neuropathy. It seems

to be worse on his right side with more tightness in his right leg and hand, the

right side of his neck and his right cheek. Every thing I've read says the

neuropathy caused by Vincristine should resolve 6 months after the last dose.

Is anyone else dealing with long-term neuropathy?

I have been taking Vit B1 as 100 mg once a day, Vit B6 as

100 mg twice a day, Vit B12 as 1000 mcg once a day. I still

have neuropathy in my feet but I think it is controlled

better with the B vitamins but it hasn't gone away.

Ruth,

I'm not sure about your neuropathy but I do question why you

are staying with a PCP with whom you do not have a good

relationship. With CLL, we never know what is coming at us

next and much of it is addressed by our PCP. I think you

should go PCP shopping.

All the best,

Lynn

I would suggest you look at capsicum or some form of cayenne

pepper. It can be applied as a cream and I know some people

who drink a teaspoon everyday. For reliable information

sources you may want to check out the Memorial Sloan

Kettering web site.

Find someone in your area that does ReBuilder therapy,

usually a physical therapist, chiropractor or Naprapath (Il.

& NM) or try ReBuilder Inc. you maybe able to purchase one

to use daily or every other day. Very easy to use and has

dramatic results whether you have PN from nerve damage,

diabetes, or chemo. Please feel free to contact me if you

have any questions.
