Guest guest
Has anyone heard of a medication (I believe it is Rx but I could be wrong) identified by the initials: DHTA. I am under the impression it is a hormone of some sort. Apparently it is used for the fatigue associated with fibromyalgia. Can't seem to find any info on the web. Thanks. Guest guest
Are you sure you are not talking about DHEA - this is a natural hormone used for increased energy, however lots of precautions go along with its use... Guest guest
Barry, I have had success with both DHEA and pregnenolone for depression and for the energy to get out of bed in the morning. My new rheumatologist did not prescribe these (they are available without prescription at health food stores and some drugstores), but she goes along with my choice, since my bloodwork bears out their effectiveness--in my case. There is a very good recent (11/15/00) article on the medscape.com website (search for DHEA on their search option at the bottom of the page). It pays to do your own research, since rheumatologists don't always respond to the latest scholarship in their field. My former rheumatologist diagnosed me with osteoarthritis and/or fibromyalgia and refused to consider any inflammatory arthritis symptoms. marcia cohee
