Guest guest
Hi, to answer the question about blood tests, I have my blood checked monthly. Recently my ESR and sed rate have both gone down, but are still very high. I just came from the DR. and he increased my codeine contin to 150 mg twice a day. I have been on the metho for over a year now, with 3 or 4 increases in dosages that puts me at 20 mg IM weekly. I thought the highest dose could be 30 mg, but I see people here saying they take much more than that. Is anyone taking arthrotec or plaquenil? I have been on these 1 month. How long before you saw results? I want to be pain free or bearable pain. Is this too much to ask or unrealistic?
Guest guest
Dear , It certainly is not too much to ask to be painfree, I personally never had any results from Plaquenil. It is much considered a weak sister in treatment of PA, but is worth trying. I would definitely consider going higher on the methotrexate if you and your doctor feel you can tolerate and since your labs are headed downward. True success on the medicine should be a remission of the pain completely. Metho never kept me out of pain for long periods - but I got a few months in a row here and there between increases on the metho and then finally I added in Neoral. I am hoping that the Arava has more staying power than the methotrexate. There is no way to know if it will. Crossing my fingers.
