Guest guest
I've been on & off several lists the last year and have found the information on them - including this one - to be invaluable. I've learned so MUCH more on the lists than any doctor is willing to speak! I'm very involved these days with FEAT here in N.CA as they are helping me get services back for one of my twins with PDDNOS and in dealing with our school district. One of the books they recommended I read is, " Unveiling The Mystery of Autism and Pervasive Developmetnal Disorder " by Karyn Seroussi. If you haven't read this book, I encourage you to. This is a mother's journey through her son's autism and in finding ALTERNATIVE treatments for him. Mostly, cutting his diet completely down due to his numerous allergies plus all the " traditionally proven methods " like ABA. She writes with incredible honesty and clarity that I found myself in a lot of the situations she was in. Her husband is a research scientist of some kind (and suspected autistic), and some of the pioneering research he did and helped with is amazing. When you read the book, so many of the issues we see in our kids, and the trial & error we are all going through, make so MUCH sense! The end result is that he was cured and didn't test autistic at a VERY early age because she started early and persisted! I hope you get a chance to read this one. I checked it out from our library, but I know that Amazon.com and WalMart.com sell it too. -Le -
