Headaches and Sulfasalazine

Hi everyone - I am new here ...

Finally I have built up the courage to contribute after reading Joanne's

message about headaches and Sulfasalazine. I have been reading all the

e-mails for the last week or so and have found many common symptoms and

anecdotes with my own medical history.

I too have been on Sulfasalazine for only a few weeks and have had non stop

headaches. They vary from bearable to blinding but seem to be worse in the

evenings and when lying down in bed trying to sleep. When I was in

Hospital last week, (another story), I asked my Doctor if they were related

to the Sulfasalazine, but he did not think so. Since then I have been

taken off this medication, but the headaches have continued. I am not sure

how long the side effects continue after you stop taking the tablets, but I

can let you know if the headaches improve.
