My PA mainly seems to affect my tendons etc rather than joints, but even where I do have joint pain, there's no swelling visible to me, although I don't know what it might look like under an x-ray or MRI or whatever. Although I'm glad that the PA doesn't affect my appearance (and the P is only minimal too), it's also frustrating because on the outside, there's not the slightest indication that there's anything wrong, until you watch me walking up stairs or trying to get up from a chair. But even if the outside world can't see it, don't for one minute start thinking you're imagining the pain!
