Hi All

My Aunt Pidgie [nickname for Bridgett] endured and survived a heart attack

last year. The full staff at the hospital went into action, decided to

prolong her life, sent her to the dietician. At 78, well what can I say?

Anyway she has now lost over one stone in weight, stopped dying her hair and

really looks well. She went to her physician before Christmas for a repeat

pill prescription and while there complained about the pains in her hands.

Yes she has RA, the hands are pretty useless, too much bread making and

knitting if you ask me.

Anyway she received a hospital appointment, which she showed me, stating she

was going to have her hands x-rayed. In fact the appointment was for a

specialist, came as a shock to Pidgie. So she insisted that her sister, MY

Mom went along to hold her hand, and Mom obliged.

I was under strict instructions to collect them at 10.30am, so pulled into

the hospital to find Mom in the middle of the road? She told me Pidgie was

having blood tests, so could I park the car and wait.

The Gals got into the car and I asked Mom if Pidgie was all right, passed

the tests. Seems Pidgies x-ray was in fact a ECG, she passed with flying

colours. I asked Pidgie if she knew what the outcome was, whereupon the two

got into a form of story telling.

Having had her ECG they went to see the specialist, who asked Pidgie to

undress and get up on the couch. Here and at her age this request is not

comfortable, so some discussion went on between the Gals over why. Anyway

the specialist came in and started manoeuvring Pidgies hips, just to check

she was arthritis free in that area. He said, " I bet you it has been a long

time since you had your leg rubbed like this! "

However, Pidgie said, the specialist said, " If my wife can get her leg over

at your age, she will be doing well! "

Mom nearly had a heart attack with laughter, and I nearly ran the car off

the road!

Pidgie can still tell them even at 78!

Love and God Bless

Gillian
