Guest guest
I have just taken a second food allergy test--the last one being quite extensive. I know that these blood tests are not 100% accurate. I had my first test done, and one of my major " reactive " foods was chicken, but not turkey. I took the second test, which was more extensive, expensive, and supposedly better. That one said I was reactive to turkey, but not chicken. Both indicated that I was reactive to eggs. So, if anyone out there is up on food allergies, what would the difference be between turkey and chicken? Should I just avoid both of them? They are both poultry, so I would think that there would be a similarity. I have been staying off the chicken (something that before I ate a lot of), and I have been feeling so much better. Not as many achey muscles. I also found out on the tests that I do not have a reaction to gluten or wheat products. Thank goodness!! I definitely believe that diet affects my PA. I did quite a few things at the same time. I started Enbrel last May, and I finally stopped my medrol (weaning process) in September. I started on a major diet in Sep, using the elimination diet. When I started back on " food " , I started eating lots of salads, and then adding chicken!! I was so achey all over, and I was so disappointed that getting off the Medrol (prednisone) left me in so much discomfort. I just ached all over. Then, I got the results of my test, only to discover that chicken was one of my main problems (according to that test). I stopped eating chicken, and started feeling really good-- well, actually, it is all relative to what " feeling good " is to someone with PA!! Help!!
