Guest guest
Dear and I feel I must thank you both for the wonderful present I received YESTERDAY, namely " The Partridge in the Pear Tree " . I agree at this time of the year, Yuletide, usually a Conifer without a Partridge is traditional, but hey, this is after all Ireland. You may like to know that after lopping off a few branches I managed to secure said tree, with inhabitant, in the living room, although the corner was not big enough. Mom did think we were having our chimney cleaned, as when she returned from shopping, she observed a few branches hanging out the chimney pot. Unfortunately I also had to leave the windows open, but the Partridge did not mind. Thankfully Mom managed to break her spectacles, so did not notice the intrusion, although she is complaining of poor television reception? That was nothing compared to her annoyance when the Partridge did what comes naturally over her shoulder. I did venture in earlier this morning, but could not locate my hi-fi system, so left well alone. TODAY the UPS man arrived again, this time he delivered " Two Turtle Doves " . It was a kind thought , but we already have secured a Turkey for Christmas Day, which is more traditional. However without further ado, I placed the two cooing doves in the living room, where they decided to gang up on the Partridge. Mother came running down the stairs when she heard the commotion, followed by Hermes who bolted into the living room. I tried to explain that the noise was just a Christmas CD that I had purchased, in order to make Christmas that special time we all know it to be. While I know I am not a long-standing member of the Onelist club, I must again thank you for your kind gifts. Love and God Bless Gillian
