Guest guest
Dear Hallie, Did you ever get anything out of the MTX? If you did at some point get well from it, it may just be a matter of increasing the dose. You may be able to go as high as 50 mg by shot once a week. Of course, you will need an anti nausea pill and some folic acid for other side effects, but if it had worked, it is worth trying. Next, my doctor added in cyclosporine with the Metho-he did not stop it. We were afraid of a bad rebound flare if we stopped the Metho (it is hard to tell how much it is really helping). Anyhow, I had to ask if it had helped at all. If not, I could see trying something completely new like Cyclosporine (Neoral) or Imuran. Otherwise, I would only be amenable to increasing the dose for now if I was you. Like a lot of people on the site say, you want to get the most out of each med as you travel along the PA highway. If you skip treatments, you cannot necessarily go back to them and then you can be stuck with nothing to try at the end- like me right now- waiting anxiously for a new drug to come out- I hope in November- and I have been waiting in so much pain for over six months. The meds I am on are keeping the Psoriasis away, but not the PA.
