Guest guest
Hi Becky Sounds as if you received a shock! Well first of all do not panic. Another member has the same problem over MTX so she might just get in contact, if she reads this message. I am led to believe that lung damage by MTX is reversible, once you stop the drug, so I guess that is why the Rheumy pulled it. I know you are at PANIC stations, but you will have to trust me on this one. I was on sulphasine, when I located my blood problem. ALL my drugs were pulled as the blood problem should have reverted once I stopped the sulphasine. NO it did not happen in the six months as laid down in the guide by the manufactures of this drug, BUT my last TWO blood tests show a return to normal. I stopped the drug in 1994 and only in late 1999 did my blood tests show a improvement, so much for six months! Mind you I had another blood work up today, see what the results are next week. There are other drugs out there, so you still have a choice! As for you trip to Ireland? Well now Becky, against medical advise, family advice and my own sanity, I took my trip to USA! I had the anxiety of lasting the flight without my nicotine, eight hours. I had the anxiety of being too stiff to move after eight hours. I had the worry that upon my arrival someone might shoot me and the list real and imagined was endless. There comes a point in your life, where you say to yourself, 'this is my hole in the storm. I either shoot for it now and throw caution to the wind, or I cancel the moon shot and live to REGRET it'. I do not believe in living my life with regrets, so I went for it! Against all the information I had been told, or thought I knew, my visit to USA, albeit for a family funeral was THE BEST time I had ENJOYED in YEARS! Even now when I face this frozen shoulder situation, I pull out my photographs of Las Vegas and RELIVE every single second in my MIND! In fact I now need to get reprints, as the original photographs are peeling at the corners, they have been pawed so much! You might also like to know, I had NO medical cover insurance for my American visit either! How is that for caution to the wind! Sure I had a back up plan. If the health suddenly deteriorated, I would stay in bed for the ten days and they could get a Crane to lift me back into the aeroplane! Failing that I would go Cargo, UPS or whatever was the easiest! Mind you when I did get back my GP went BALLISTIC, but my trip was once in a lifetime, so well worth my life, if it came to that! Would I do it again? Just send me the INVITE! Love and God Bless Gillian
