Guest guest
Hi Carole B Yes I was on ARTHROTEC a few years ago. The Pharmaceutical Company still send me their Monthly Arthritis Magazine. To my understanding Voltaren [brand name for Diclofenac Sodium, someone PLEASE check that] and Arthrotec another brand name for; Diclofenac Sodium along with the one I take when needed Difene, Diclofenac Sodium, plus Diclomax SR, Motifene, Rhumalgen, Volraman, Voltarol, are all BRANDS for Diclofenac Sodium. This drug is supposedly HARD on he stomach, so Arthrotec came up with a Bright Idea, to Coat their Diclofenac Sodium with Misoprostol, which helps to prevent gastduodenal ulceration. Well that is the THEORY? My GP switched me from Voltarol, 75mgs at night to Arthrotec. After seven days he had to reverse his decision, as my gastroduodenal tract was showing several side effects. The side effects that Misoprostol was supposed to prevent, it GAVE me! This time even my GP had to stand back in bewilderment, with the way my body reacted! However, I still find Diclofenac Sodium in it's PURE form to be the ONLY anti-inflammatory that really works for me. Odd though, because since I started taking EPO, my liver function test registers a HIGH Sodium level? Perhaps there is some connection????? Love and God Bless Gillian
