Guest guest
I just wrote the other night, I didn't think we saw progress on enzymes. Well.I'm eating my words. We did them for three months this summer and any and all improvements were slow for me to see, honestly. My guy is newly diagnosed PDD-NOS and will be 8 in a few months. We stopped when school started. Just this past few weeks, chewing like I've never seen. Usually he hits a wash cloth in the tub and that's about it. He's destroying pencils, we could call him beaver. At school they gave him a chew stick of some kind and we've been doing a ton more gum, gurrrr..We've also noticed him getting up at night needing what he calls to snuggle. He's very happy in school but it could be a little more than I realize. He told me tonight he felt better with enzymes and he would like them again. Pretty good hey? I asked him if he felt better on enzymes and he said he did. So we are starting back up tomorrow and I'm not stopping any time soon. I picked up more goodies today and what a huge battle that was even getting him to try and swallow a pill. You'd think I was trying to kill him. I think I'm going to crush it up, it is L-Carnitine, and put in sugar if all else fails. I need to get stuff in this kid. He just gives up to easy and battles it. We had a nice conversation tonight and he understands we are just trying to make his body healthy and strong. This may have been the wrong thing to do but I took away his computer privileges until he swallows a pill for me. I pray it works wonders and hope I was right???? I also loved getting your stories on home schooling. I sat my husband down tonight to read a couple. My son is going through exactly what my husband went through, only different times and understand better circumstances today for my son. I feeling so much better about myself as a parent thinking about home schooling as something we will do if things start to go down hill. So far, we aren't there at all but something to prepare for and be ready to do. We both feel it is something we could do and do well for him.
