I'm not sure what you mean by lightning pain. If you mean sudden

stabbing pain I somethimes get that in my knees or ankles. I will be walking

along and all of a sudden pain. I usuallly have it for some time. I use

moist heat and vioxx and rest. If that don't work I go see my ruemy and

usually that's a shot of cortisone.

Don't know if that is any help.
