Guest guest
Hi arjay, I have dovonex at home. Do you apply the creme directly on the nail, do you put some under the nail. What is your technique. Thank's for the tip. .
Guest guest
Ron, I have been using dovonex for several years and is the only thing that works for me. My P is steroid resistant type of P. Have been using it for about two years, _supposed_ to be twice a day per doctor's recommendation but sometimes I either don't do it twice or -- when things look pretty good or whatnot, not at all. When I do it per doc's orders it keeps the spots smoothed and faded out. Some have even gone away, though I must admit my P is the mildest now it's been in decades. We have been having 80 and 90 degree weather here the past few days, today is supposed to be only in the 60's! My dh (who has PA) loves the hot weather. He says he doesn't hurt as bad. We don't usually have tornadoes because of all the mountains. I will definitly keep your son in our prayres. My 13 yo gilr has always had passing out spells.First one was when she was 2. It's scary but she's ok. Have a great day Jenn A

Guest guest
Dovonex has worked wonders for me. But only if I put it on the red patches at night, cover with saran wrap (plastic wrap/film), tape down the edges of the plastic wrap with masking tape & leave it on all night (careful to remove tape slowly in the morning so as not to irritate the surrounding skin). After a few months of doing this, the patch are usually gone or almost gone. It really works!! Nothing else worked before dovonex. PS. I wrote a little post yesterday about mouth sores. The rheumy seemed to imply that they are related to PA somehow (not just a result of the meds). I'm looking for more info on this if anyone knows more about it. I just want to clarify - I was referring to canker sores, the little painful white dots inside the mouth & on the tounge that are sensitive to acidity. These are not the same as cold sores/herpes mouth sores that some people get on the outside of their mouth or lips. Sharon > > > Has anybody been given dovonex? Guest guest
> Does the thin skin from topical steroid return to normal after > discontinuation of the steroid? Orin Mine skin has returned to normal in a few spots where the psoriasis has gone away (i.e., has been gone for 12 years). In other spots where the psoriasis is stubborn (i.e.,disappears for a while, then returns), the skin bleeds easily -- but that may be caused by the psoriasis, not the topical steroid. Just a few questions I was thinking >about last night. I don't want to hurt my scalp after all this. >Robin Robin, you are confusing Dovonex with topical steroid ointments. They are the ones that thin your skin; Dovonex has no steroids. Most people tolerate Dovonex in vaseline for years; it never seems to lose its (slow) effectiveness, though it can irritate slightly, for instance on the more delicate face skin. The Dovonex-in-alcohol solution, which won't grease up your hair, may tend to dry out your skin and irritate, but this is not the same as the thinning of topical steroid ointments (which tend to make my P rapidly _worse_ if I use it for more than a day or two). I occasionally use the ointment at night, and the alcohol solution in the daytime. But you might want to use a coal tar shampoo if they are available where you live.
