Hi Jim: I tried to talk to my RD about the intestinal side affects i'm

having with MTX at 20mg a week - he said " it must be your imagination " or

something else going on...MTX doesn't cause that...well, I believe he is way

off on that because even the FIRST dose I took, 3 pills, I had diarrhea that

same night...So I am still on pills because my RD doesn't " believe in " side

affects....I am going to a Gastroenterologist next month just to prove to him

that it IS the M TX!!!

Get another rheumatologist! Seriously, any doctor who has a preconceived

notion of what medications do and ignores your side effects, does not have

your best interest at heart. Your life and well being depend upon a doctor

who treats you and works with your symptoms as they occur. I endured two

years of misdiagnosis from a rheumatologist with a similar attitude. Fire

him!

Duncan, you can't seriously think that avian flu is NOT a threat, if not

to humans then certainly the earth's bird population.

No wonder they call the 1918 pandemic The Forgotten Killer.

, avian flu is a threat only in that all influenza

outbreaks are a concern for someone with a low immune system.

The death rate is less of a concern than the infectivity rate.

Don't forget that the germ doesn't cause disease; germs are

everywhere and it's up to the host to provide terrain that it needs

or it doesn't " take " .
