Guest guest
I am so glad I found this group!!!!! I am 42. Was diagnosed with PA in 1993 and had never heard of it until then. I did not really get psoriasis until I was in my 30's and sun exposure helped that. I don't have any really bad patches. The only remaining psoriasis is in my nail on both fingers and toes. In the early 90's my hands began to bother me and I thought it may be carpal tunnel. A trip to my doctor proved my diagnosis to be wrong and he sent me to a rheumatologist. He tried various NSAIDS and finally endomethacine worked. I have been on that since 1993. About 6 months ago my wrists started being extremely painful and the pain in my hands worsened. My rheumatologist put me on methotrexate in July. I looked forward to the pain lessoning. It hasn't happened. My lab tests every month have been coming back fine but the pain and inflamation has not gotten any better. My last appointment with him he said he may put me on something together with the methotrexate. I want the pain to go away, however, I do not want to be on 3 different medications for the same thing!!!! I am still taking the endomethacin, so with methotrexate and another, I would be taking 3 things. So far he has increased my methotrexate from a starting dosage of 4 a week up to 7 now. I am getting extremely depressed that it isn't working because I had heard this was the " miracle " drug. I thought I would be able to take this once a week and be off the endomethacin. Any thoughts, advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jeanne
