Guest guest Posted December 11, 2007 Report Share Posted December 11, 2007 i've been reading the posts about probiotics and we have major food allergies in my family and have not found one that we can take, so i've been making tons of water kefir and coconut kefir for my family to drink and so far so good. there are tons of recipes and its a very easy way to get my toddler to take his probiotics, he thinks its soda because ity's kind of carbonated. any way its worth a try and VERY cheap it cost me $8 for the water kefir culture and it just keeps growing and growing so much that i don't know what to do with it. you never have to buy more culture and it lives off of fruit and water so there's no dairy or other allergens. and the culture eats the sugar from the fruit, that's what makes it grow and work, so there's no sugar left in the final drink. i have a ? about diet and healing the gut, are you suppose to stay off all carbs? because the GAPS diet says fruits ok but no grains, even dried fruit is allowed, wouldn't the natural sugars in the dried fruit feed the pathogenic bateria? sam Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
