Guest guest
Dear PA Friends, For two days while I was away I took off the moderator hat, and let the list open up. Unfortunately, some spammers somehow sniffed this out and did their work. I locked the list up again so no messages will get through unless a moderator approves them. I will put out this plea again, if there is anyone on the list who would like to co-moderate- even if for a few weeks at a time, please let me know, Happy Valentines Day,
Guest guest
Hi Yes to co-moderating. What do I have to do? Kit
Guest guest
Maybe so but I would consider that an invasion of privacy myself and would not join such a group. Maybe I'm looking for info for someone else and not myself. How is that going to help me? As I said, good idea for some groups but from experience not this one. Barbara spammers In another health-related group I belong to, The moderator asks the potential member a series of questions that only another person with the same illness would know the answers to. Once they asnwer the questions correctly, then they are put on monitor status for several postings to see if they are who they say they are. No spammers on that site. Just an idea that seems to work. Guest guest
But we're still getting lots of spam. Don't you all find it very annoying? Guest guest
Of course it is. But if new members posts are set to moderated the spam never reaches the message board. spammers In another health-related group I belong to, The moderator asks the potential member a series of questions that only another person with the same illness would know the answers to. Guest guest
I've seen a lot of it lately. Colleen Barbara <bjarrett@...> wrote: Of course it is.
