Guest guest
Robbi, May I suggest that you name names; ie, who specifically was the doctor who was giving you 17 different MTX shots all at once with the 3-4 hour wait? I personally think we should start keeping a database of doctors who are BAD in our opinions and should be avoided, as well as the GOOD ones to seek out. Who knows, we might even get rheumatologists to take this group more seriously. -- Ron > Hi Friends... > > I changed rheumatologist this week. Guest guest
Ron, I wouldnt feel comfortable listing his name here. I dont want to be in danger of slandering someone. I would be glad to share my experience privately with someone from my area that really needed some information on doctors. I cannot say that he hasnt helped others, and his treatment did help me. I have posted that here as well. But in the end I believe it was excessive. Are there any others here that have had similar treatments? I dont know enough about it to judge his treatment on a larger scale, except to say that I dont believe it was correct for me at this point. However, I do totally understand your point, in that this group doesnt seem to be taken as seriously as it could be. This group has been an excellent source of information and support for me. And we regularly see new members that are sooooo very glad they found it. Thanks Robbi > Robbi, > > May I suggest that you name names; ie, who specifically was the > doctor who was giving you 17 different MTX shots all at once with the > 3-4 hour wait? Guest guest
Ron-- I agree. So for any of you who are in Georgia--the most wonderful rheumy is Dr. Rattandeep Singh. He's in Atlanta at Piedmont Hospital. I honestly think he saved my life--he's caring and sympathetic, and he LISTENS!!!! He even called my mom a few times between visits to make sure I was telling him everything. I think anyone in the area should definitely see him! Guest guest
Ron - Great idea. For anyone in Dallas, I can definitely recommend my rheumatologist, Dr. Leyka Barbosa @ Medical City Hospital.. she is very caring and attentive, explains every process fully, and translates all of the medical terminology into something like English for me.. plus, her nurse, Sue, is top-rate.. returns calls promptly and actually *listens* when I call her whining about something... she has a small practice, isn't part of a big group of doctors, and I actually only had to wait 3 weeks for my first appointment after getting the referral from my GP (another Rheumatologist had a 5 MONTH wait.. sheesh!)... the best thing is, when I am feeling really bad, they go the extra effort to make an appointment slot for me the same or next day. All that pretty much balances out the hatred for those damned standing orders for blood tests every two weeks. > > Hi Friends... > > > > I changed rheumatologist this week.
