Guest guest
, PA > sufferers tend to be on very low doses, typically 7.5 - 17.5 mg, once a > week I found this remark interesting and the fact that MTX usually works for PA sufferers. My doctor has told me that also. i have been on MTX since March 1998. PO for the first 4 months and IM ever since. It hasn't done much of anyhting at all, hasn't even touched the P spots as the doctor says usually happens. I take 20 mg and have been on that dose for a year or more. You that know me, know there are many more drugs than that. I wonder why it hasn't helped me, or for that matter, why nothing else has. Sometimes I begin to think that this is all in my head and I possibly can't be having the kind of pain I do because this stuff is suppose to work. While I'm here, let me ask a question. Can a person's narcotic pain releivers start to NOT work anymore, I mean that it isn't enough? I have been on codeine contin for quite some tiome. The last increase was to 150 mg three times a day..it never took all the pain away, but it was better. Some days I was down to 1 tylenol#3 a day. This week has been awful..5-6 tylenol#3. I had some 200 mg codeine contin left over and the doc had once suggested 200mg Three times..so I took it on my own last night and this am..200 mg. I was a bit less sore this am..took 1 tylenol..and seem ok now. So, could my 150 mg stop working or what?? ...I HATE having pain..really getting tired of it..it limits everything I do or want to do
Guest guest
, I also am a RN with PA and little P. I do remember 40 yrs ago a male patient that was only skin and bones from terminal cancer. I gave him a shot of morphine in the arm. There was only bone and no muscle. I can still hear the sound (to me) when that needle hit the bone. You are right. I apologized as I felt sooo bad. He said he never felt it, and I really did believe him, but I sure do remember. Guest guest
Hey, , Prayers for your grandson's surgery to be successful and as pain-free as possible. Prayers also, for the families of the young men who lost their lives recently on a fishing trip. Life is so unpredictable, and these things remind us to live life to the fullest, every day!
