Holy cow!! I wonder if it could get hot enough to melt vinyl seats or

start a fire on upholstery in a car? What a shock that must have been for

the car owner!!

LOL Kathy! My favorite on Survivor is Tom the farmer from TN. I know I

couldn't live with him more than a week, but I just love his accent! Hey,

when I lived in the Bay Area for 15 years I was always surprised to hear

that I had an accent and that they would nearly always peg me as from the

midwest or Ohio! lol I thought THEY had the accent!

This is such a fun game to play .... how do you pronounce certain words.

I worked with a woman from NC with a very heavy, pronounced southern accent.

Understanding her was very difficult at times. One day a coworker from

another dept. left my desk, walking back towards his office. My NC coworker

started loudly yelling what everyone thought was " cave in " . People covered

their heads and crawled under their desks .... except me, for after a few

moments I realized that she was not warning us of impending danger, she was

calling the gentleman who had just left my desk ... his name was . ;-)

Now, the test for true southerners ... how do you pronounce the name of that

other writing utensil that begins with a p and is not a pencil? ;-)

Kathy, don't they have that commercial of the 2 girls from NY...probably

from the Bronx with that exaggerated accent and they are in europe ...not

sure what it is for but if you've seen it, you know! I love accents and

people that can do them and say what person is from where!

See,

I said would deny her accent!

I can't deny something that I don't have :)

This reminds me of the time my good friend Ante (aka lexusangel) met me in

Baltimore. Ante is from Westchester County, NY and is the mom of .

Oldies from AOL will remember her. Anyway, I came from WVA and she came

from NY. I found the hotel with no problems, while she had to get a police

escort to the hotel...sheesh! I watched her arrive from the 23rd floor..it

was a hoot!

And you were right! Actually none of us has an accent ourselves, just

everyone else. It's natural. Jessie

I used to have a neighbor and friend who was fresh out of Scotland.

She really broke me up sometimes. She had a bunch of brothers and had some

wild stories to tell. One of them started with " we had a sailor under the

house-- " I stopped her, you had sailor under the house? what were you doing

with him? No, she said, a hole, you know. Oh, a cellar. Sure, a sailor.

I've had many laughs over that one. There were many others. She was from

Glasgow. Jessie
