Guest guest
I was just reading readers digest and there is a blurb about a fire caused by a crystal hanging on the rear view mirror and with the sunlight, started a fire on a stack of papers in the vehicle...how timely, huh? Well, about accents. I don't have one..lol. The Piedmont accent I love is from those Virginians who live in Culpeper and surrounding counties. This includes the famous Monticello area where Jefferson lived.
Guest guest
On ours it says something about not driving with it up there but doesn't say it's illegal. I drove with it hanging there for 15 years before I was stopped. go figure. We have a separate card to carry with the person's name, etc on it but have never had to show it. The cop told me I could hit a building with it hanging there but when you look at things people hang there, it's just silly. Jessie

I > don't know about other states but in Kansas it is a moving violation to drive > with the placard hanging there. Well, I picked up 's today. There is a statement that it is to be hung only while parking..no mention of any law. Yea, that is kinda silly considering what people hang on their rear view mirror. I have Tim's work tag and TJ has his high school parking pass. I occasionally use one for my job (to park free in the county garage while on county business). I also have 's rosary that he made hanging from the rear view window in the jeep. Here in VA, they also have the disabled person's name and date of birth on the tag (reverse side). Big article awhile back about the prisms everyone was hanging. Tickets are issued!! Handicap tags are put in glove compartments and pulled out when you actually park in a handicap space. Guest guest
North like where???? I have 's baby shoes (his first pair of gap sneakers) and a hanging pooh thingie. On my passenger visor I have my guardian angel of the highway and Ralph's palm cross. It's not very busy and I can see fine. No handicap parking permit here because amanda walks so well. Although, they do have these courtesy spots for cars of people with small children or in strollers. They didnt have them when my kids were little and i was thinking that is what we need - courtesy parking spots!!!! ~ Mom to 11 DS and 7 NY

(some still do, but I think they have to be stopped for something else to get the ticket) I do know that the parking tag for the college that the girls went to in Roch had printed on the back of them to not leave hanging when driving. Handicap tags are put in glove compartments and pulled out when you actually park in a handicap space. > Cheryl in VA Here is the code (rather vague..what defines a highway??, huh?...I'll ask a friend of mine who is a cop and see what he says): § 46.2-1054. Suspension of objects or alteration of vehicle so as to obstruct view of driver. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive a motor vehicle on a highway in the Commonwealth with any object or objects, other than a rear view mirror, sun visor, or other equipment of the motor vehicle approved by the Superintendent, suspended from any part of the motor vehicle in such a manner as to obstruct the driver's clear view of the highway through the windshield, the front side windows, or the rear window, or to alter a passenger-carrying vehicle in such a manner as to obstruct the driver's view through the windshield. However, this section shall not apply (i) when the driver's clear view of the highway through the rear window is obstructed if such motor vehicle is equipped with a mirror on each side, so located as to reflect to the driver a view of the highway for at least 200 feet to the rear of such vehicle or (ii) to safety devices installed on the windshields of vehicles owned by private waste haulers or local governments and used to transport solid waste. (1960, c. 122, § 46.1-291.1; 1972, cc. 8, 844; 1987, c. 135; 1989, c. 727.) Meanwhile, I will not put the rosary away..it's going to stay there..it does not obstruct my view and it's made with plastic and not crystals I'll email my friend later tonight. You should see what some of the people up north have hanging from their mirrors)

Guest guest
When and where did you live in Manassas? We're about 5 miles outside the city limits. Do you ever return for visits. The Manassas city police seem to have a reputation for stopping people for small infractions--usually just a warning, though. Guest guest
My second brothers first wife was from kircaldy (said kircoddy) near edinburgh (scotland!). I took her two boys out one time when the eldest (marcus) was just 4 and drove them past the beach on the way home when marcus (now a strapping army private and father of my newly aquired great neice!) said 'antie sue, can we no gor te there shore?' so I sorry, its far too cold, and besides we're late getting back but he persisted all the way home. Anyway, transpired he wanted to go to the show not the shore, the show being what I would call a fair and possibly in the states a carnival and he called the beach the beach and not the shore so I was totally misled!! Even in britain we have problems with accents!!! sue wong, JB66111@... wrote: > I used to have a neighbor and friend who was fresh out of Scotland. > She really broke me up sometimes.
