Guest guest
I suspect he has a some sort of bathroom phobia. Flushing noise? Bright light? Increased noise because of the tile walls?I'm an Aspie Mom to an Aspie son, married to an Aspie Dude. When I was your son's age, I would urinate on a bath towel in my closet, and then shove it deeeeep into the hamper. I don't know if my Mom ever caught on, or knew, but didn't fuss.I aged out of it by the time I was fifteen. And, I'm darn high function.I would have a talk to your son about why he likes urinating onto wood/in small spaces/very privately. Maybe you can transition the behavior into the bathroom by giving him an attic corner to pee in, but having him use a bucket. Move the bucket slowly towards the bathroom, rewarding him for each positive move. At the same time, seek to replicate some of what he needs in your home's bathroom. If he could have changed the behavior by now, I'm sure he would have. He seems to be respectful and loving. We Aspies have funky brain wiring, and a lot of us have odd bathroom behaviors. Excreting is so fraught (nakedness, germs, wiping), that we seek to control the variables. Thanks to several naughty pets, I am very familiar with the smell of pee. Get the gallon size of Nature's Miracle and saturate the peed-on areas with the stuff. You might want to get a black light flashlight to seek out all the pee spots (urine fluoresces in black light when the room is dark).Heavy sigh, I know. Stay sane, dear. R.
