Gillian,

Idon't know if my GP's attitude changed after the divorce,

it did after I got married. I have a theory that all

doctors recieve on completion of their training a quick

guide to dealing with female patients (I'm sure a male

equivalent exists)

age0-2 teething

age3-11 growing pains

age12-16 puberty/hormones all over the place

age16-40 hormones/pregnancy/post natal

depression/depression.

age40-60 menopause/approaching menopause

age60+ old age

special note: at any age a woman may be deemed to be

hysterical/neurotic/psycotic and making a fuss over nothing

Interesting that your Mum had to intervene mine has come

along in a threatening capacity on several occaisions and

once I took my whole family in, Mum and Dad; which earned

me the grand prize of a back X-ray! My GP would rather I

shut up and went away, which is fine,(I don't like him any

more than he likes me) but from what I read PA is

progressive and can cause long term damage; I'm worried as

I fully intend to live to 90 with millions of grandchildren

etc. and persue a demanding career in the mean time till I

can sit in my rocking chair being grumpy. I don't want to

waste all this hard work on having a career if I don't get

to enjoy being a cantankerous old woman at the end. In

short I've got a long time to go and would like to keep as

much quality of life as possible. Any one any idea on my

chances?
