My son was anti-head-under-water for awhile (6-7 yrs old, maybe), but we kept at it and now he's a fish =) Doesn't bother him at all. So if your kid has problems with water, don't give up. If we would've given up every time Dylan protested about something, he'd be sitting in his room playing video games day in and day out (except for school.) We've pushed/encouraged/stuck to it, and now he plays 1st chair tuba in his middle school band, immensely enjoys swimming, and plays on a soccer team that's undefeated, so far, this season. I think some of the hestitation he experienced was more about not wanting to do anything different than doing what was specifically in front of him (swimming, soccer, band, etc...). Sure he has struggled in some ways and he does have motor skills that cause some problems in soccer, but he compensates in other ways that evens it all

out. He's a little awkward on the field at times, but his ability to focus on the ball and go after it with tenacity makes him one of the better defensive players on his team.

My son talks to strangers all the time. Granted he rambles on and on about specific star wars characters, but he loves to talk literally to anyone. And he does fine with swimming for the most part, although last year was another story. OT really has helped his sensory issues when it comes to swimming. All kids are different.
