I was hopeful in the fall since it seemed to be improving things-less swelling, less pain. There were days when I could almost go without advil. But over the last month or so the pain has been steadily returning me to limp mode and joint throbbing at night etc. Also, the PA has recently invaded a few new joints with a vengeance. So, the RD has taken me off of it and I started Arava today. A new adventure. Someone was asking about the effects of sulfasalazine on the immune system. I usually get colds and sinus infections pretty often but while on Sulfasalazine from Sep to this week I haven't been sick once despite working in a school, having kids in day care etc. So, my experience was that it wasn't a problem.
