Dear Friends and Neighbors,

It has been three years since was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). It has been a rough few years for him, but thanks to the Leukemia Society and their research he is still here today. ’s treatment program will be over December of this year. However, the side effects from the chemo will linger on through his lifetime.

is now 7 years and in first grade. He has been the hero for several marathons for the Leukemia society in the last three years and inspired many athletes to endure what it takes to run a marathon. In turn, these athletes have helped raise thousands of dollars to help people like him live longer, become cancer free, and survive with less side effects. faces his challenges with innocence, patience and strength. I have watched him endure tremendous pain and suffering not only fighting for his life, but having to

deal with the horrible side effects of today's known chemotherapy treatment. It has caused numerous other surgeries, medications and complications.

I have seen what the Leukemia Society does for people and it is absolutely life saving for thousands. has been asked by the Society to be the team hero for this event, which makes it even more special for me. I am so excited to be able to participate in this race by being an athlete and a proud mother of the hero of the team.

So, here is where I need your help. I have committed to raise $3,200 towards a cure for these blood cancers. I am running in the women’s Nike marathon in San Francisco in October 2010. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We need your help to find new and better cures for these terrible diseases and prevent other children from enduring 's pain and suffering. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training program is a nationwide non-profit organization that is dedicated to the eradication of blood cancers including all forms of Leukemia and Lymphoma. Team in Training

brings together a team of dedicated coaches, enthusiastic mentors and over 100 local team members to help me reach my goal.

Please help and children like him and contribute generously to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The process is simple – There are two ways you can make a donation:

1. Visit my fundraising website at http://pages.teamintraining.org/rm/nikesf10/cgliott All donations are secure and 100% tax deductible

2. Please make checks payable to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and return them to me at 3210 Challenger Point Dr., Loveland, CO 80538. I can accept donations up to the race; however, the sooner I meet my fundraising goal, the more I can focus my energy on preparing for the marathon.

Making a difference makes you a hero. It is a heart wrenching experience watching and caring for a child who has one of these blood cancers. I sincerely appreciate your support - I cannot make it without your enthusiasm, caring and financial pledge. and his entire family and all who love him thank you FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
