I was off it for about 5 weeks or so. The symptoms will just slowly return.

Is there a reason you want to wait to start it back up later rather than now?

Just curious...Good luck!

Take care,

D in MN

Has anyone had experience with withdrawing from Enbrel?

Symptoms of PA start coming back fairly quickly. Trying to stretch

out the time between injections will do the same thing depending on

how aggressive your PA is at the time :-) PatB

Hi Pat,

I hope you don't mind if i ask a couple of questions about your trial.

I just started Enbrel a couple of weeks ago...have had 5 injections

now. My PA is definitely a lot better already, but so far, no change

in my P. How long did it take for the skin to start to clear? And how

much did it clear? Hope you don't mind me asking questions but I am

very curious about how well Enbrel works for the skin, because I

would LOVE to have some relief with that as well.

P.s....if Enbrel continues to work for me, I will NEVER stop taking

it :-)

Thanks,

> I just finished a Clinical Trial for Enbrel for Psoriasis 8 weeks

ago with significant improvement in P and PA. I would like to know

what others have experienced in stopping the drug. I do have it

available, if necessary, but I am waiting for symptoms to return to

restart the drug. Has anyone had experience with withdrawing from

Enbrel?

PatB = zero, zip, nada, zilch for the psoriasis while on Enbrel:-(

Hi Pat...I too am curious about your study's protocol and purpose. Are the

results published? It is significant to me because I just started Enbrel and

my RD means to leave me on it short term (3 - 6 months), then take me off.

There seems to be some evidence, based on initial field reports, that Enbrel can

force remission in PA. Was your study to determine that? If you have the time

and inclination please elaborate. Who did the study and where? How long were

you on Enbrel and what was the dosing protocol? What was the baseline, age,

sex, etc? Thanks :) ......... Ronnie E.

Hi Pat, here..... I started taking Enbrel last May. Have had no side

effects and it have seen a vast improvement in the PA. I am now off mtx

completely. Unfortunately, the P is still there--- not really worse but not

really better either. Still, I am so happy to be off the mtx and all of it's

lnasty side effects.

Hi .... I live in San Diego. The RD I use is Dr. Jaffer at 9850

Genesee Ave. in La Jolla, Suite 860. 92037

Phone 858-457-3270. His office is in the Ximed building. He used to be Chief

of Staff for Scripps Memorial Hospital. He is South African educated if that

means anything to you. My wife is an executive for a major Biotech company and

has known and used him for years. He is very knowledgeable and open minded and

keeps up with the latest research. He has me on Enbrel at this time for PA.

Ronnie and - I'm jealous - I spent a summer in San Diego about 8 years

We've had record heat (101) and humidity (99%) here in Philly!!! Ugh! I miss

your weather!!! (and LaJolla is one of the pretty places I've ever seen)

Small world...I was born in Coronado Hospital. The SD county is still nice.

Especially the weather. But with the pollution, the population, the cost of

living, and the Boarder, it isn't the paradise it used to be. It was once so

rural that my brother and I had a duck blind in the bay and caught fish 3 days a

week 3 bolcks from our house for dinner. I go to Kauai frequently. There are a

lot of ex-San Diegans there and the weather is even better. Ronnie E.
