Guest guest
Hooray for ! Thank you for organizing out first get together. I have it on my calendar and my hubby and I will plan now to be there. I have a couple of questions for everyone's consideration: first, are we making any attempt to have organized " sessions " of any sort (i.e. spouse/support people meeting without " us " in the room, etc??? second, are any others considering bringing any kids? I would consider bringing my 14 YO daughter if other kids might be there. She might " get something " out of meeting others who deal with an ill parent. On the other hand, I don't want to deal with her being bored. , do I read correctly that since she is over 12 I have to pay full adult price for her? That might make my decision right away!!! Thanks again for getting this rolling, . I am looking forward to it. Hope everyone is having a pleasant weekend! Guest guest
LaRita, If my husband and I can make it, I definitely would like him to sit in on a session or two on how to help the spouse cope, or him be supportive. I can't seem to get him to understand the tiredness, the lack of umph, the depression. Or how just living with this stuff is hard. I've tried to explain, and he's tried to understand, but I see the frustration in him when I am slow or things don't get done. It might help him to understand better if it came from someone else. It would be great to have some seminars or at material on diet, new medical findings or hand outs to bring home and think about. Great job : I too think this is good...and the place looks lovely.
