Guest guest
For those of you who also share breathing difficulties (Chicagoland Sharon and especially), I have an update on my own problems. I saw the doctor at the pain clinic again and he seems to be on the right track now. The first time I saw him, he did acupuncture on my chest and back area. It only helped momentarily. So this last visit, he felt that the problem is actually coming from my spine and the arthritis in the spine. So he did injections of anesthetic in areas throughout my back and said if this relieved the breathing difficulty, then we were on the right track. Well, it has worked. Been four days now and very little problems breathing. This has been such a wonderful, delicious relief!!!!! I am not sure what he will do next, but he did mention that if this indeed the problem, he would have to eventually do a procedure very much like what Lee wrote in about, interrupting the sensory nerves. I had gone to a local pulmonary doctor who told me it was all from anxiety. When I saw my rheumie in Seattle, he had a small fit. Asked me to please, please get a second opinion from a Seattle pulmonary doctor he has worked with before. So I am going to do this just to make sure that there is no other underlying problem. But it certianly looks as if the problem is definately emanating from the spine. So for those of you having trouble drawing a decent breath.....look to your spine. Not necessarily your chest or lungs! Will keep you updated as I find out more. Poulsbo, WA.
