Guest guest
As I prepare for our annual St. 's Day celebration, and dinner for 75-100 people in our home tomorrow night, is it any wonder my PA, P and shingles in the ear have decided to "flare"?? While I don't think I am stressed, I realized yesterday when my nine year old was beaten up at school, and then threatened with being killed by the same charming group of 5 the graders, and the police got called, boys were suspended, and my son had an asthma attack and I am two days late on a critical work project and the housekeepers failed to appear so now I have to clean the house (haven't done that in years), that just maybe I was overdoing the stress thing just a bit. Phew - maybe it is good to let it all out. Now I think I will go downstairs and tackle the laundry.
Guest guest
Hi I'm the girl who told you to try the GNC store for the herb filled bag that you can use for cold or warm compresses. I saw your Email on Tea Tree Oil and Vit. c for your face. I use plain TTO for other things but not the face--thanks for the info. Do you buy it combined or separately, in other words, is the Vit. C in an ointment type with Tea Tree in it? Thanks in advance. Hope it's a good day for everyone. Guest guest
Hi Pat - I use Tea Tree oil moisturizer which is made by a company called Somerfields which I can buy at Dollar General for the incredible price of $1 for a big jar. It works great for me and what a bargain. The vit. C I use is a serum made by Avon which comes in a little pump bottle (maybe holds 1 ounce) and costs about $10. (ok, not quite the bargain of the other stuff, but all in all, much much cheaper than the department store crap they sell you for $25.) Anyway, this along with a morning scrub with Yardley's Almond Oil and Oatmeal soap seems to keep the skin on my face in very good shape - moisturized but not oily and nice and clear. (although I think genetics has a part too - my grandmother still had soft nice skin at 102!) Now if only I could find something for my scalp that worked as well - any suggestions?? Guest guest
Hi ! Thanks so much for the info on skin care. Sounds good to me. Whatever works, huh?! 's scalp is also very bad. Her hair falls out in big chunks if she tries to take some of it out. Nothing has worked for her on her scalp. As I just explained to Bill, we feel that the EPO is starting to help on the body. It is so very thick on her scalp that it'll take months to see if it's helped there at all. I pray that it will, not just for her but for all of you. Hope that you can get your bag at the GNC store. It's got flaxseeds and lavendar inside. Mine is 2 yrs. old and still smells good. I keep it in the freezer in a plastic grocery bag so that other smells don't get to it. It's ready if I need it cold or I can pop it into the micro if I need it warmed. I bought two of them and she said that she wishes that she could have a whole bed of them to lay on. The cold helps that inflammation and the warm helps that muscle etc. pain of Fibro. Thanks again Take care I pray for all of you daily. Bless you Pat P.S. , I used to work in Coatesville--off of 30 Bypass. ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! I'm sorry if we discussed this before - are you still in the area or did you move away? If I remember correctly, you did. Anyhow - I'm going to the drug store tonight to try to find something to help the scalp - the coal tar and salisilic acid just aren't doing much. But I am going to try the aspirin in the shampoo - maybe the shampoos I'm using just don't have enough of the acid. I'm also going to try Vit. E oil - will let you know if it helps. Guest guest
Hi Tracey & all, I have the p and had it badly on my froward and ears elbows and shoulders. Guest guest
I've been using a product called Derma-Smoothe/FS (Scalp oil) for the past few months and my scalp has been better than it has in years. You are supposed to wet your scalp, put on a shower cap, and leave it on all night. But I have just been rubbing some in every night and it has made a huge difference. You need a prescription for it and it smells kind of sweet and perfumy but it has certainly been an improvement for me. It is a combination of mild cortisone with an oil base. I have even thought about wearing something black lately. Guest guest
Hi Pat Thank you the e-mail yes I say wow also this is the best my p has been and I have purposely not put any davinox on it just to see what it would do I have none on my face and elbows and just one spot on my finger. I guess this is the only way to learn is to try and experiment with different Medes or vitamins but what works for one may not work for every one but I do hope I have been able to help someone. We all have a lot to deal with so if we can contain one symptom that is a little less stress????. God Bless Beverley
Guest guest
I recently went to my chiropractor, who is also a kinesiologist. He specializes in analyzing red and white blood cells, etc. Not a great description, but he has been extremely helpful in taking a natural approach to my PA. He recommends Zinc to help bolster the immune system, which seems to be (to me, anyway) the root cause of so much of our system weakness. I am about to embark on a mineral program including zinc - anyone have thoughts about zinc? Re: [ ] Psoria; and Reply to Stress: > Beverly! > That is fantastic! Guest guest
That is what the Dr put me on zinc for was my immuine sytsem long with garlic vitaman c & b as well as antiobitocs .While I have been taking these zinc tablets I have noticed how much better my p was so I did not put any davionx on the rashes and I have come clear all for a pin spot on my finger. It may just be a coincidence but then again it just may be I always say anything is worth a try. Guest guest
My Dr has put me on zinc, as well as Omega 3 and 6 to boost the immune system. Guest guest
thanks for the insights on zinc BOLSTERING the immune system instead of SUPPRESSING it...will keep you all posted. Guest guest
Hi Pat I take 1 Super Zinc-30 a day 1 C-complex(sustained release) 2 Garlic 10mg (odourless) 1 Ultra-Vite 75 which is B. All my p is gone and the zinc is the only thing I can put it down to. I have also been having a lot of stress with my teeth and the very humid weather here it knocks me around so If I should be broken out with p. As for ps I am the best I have been for 7years and the Fibro has eased down I can now stand some one to hug me. I pray I stay this way as I have to deal with multiple heart problems as well. Look after your self God Bless Beverley in Australia
Guest guest
Hello Roy At the moment I have no p and theP/s is good the best its been in seven years I have been on these vitamins since April last year I improved a bit but since they put me on super zinc I ace come along real well I also have to take have every day to boots my immune auto (sound like a car) I did have davinox for the p and put it on faithfully but since I have been taking the higher dose of zinc I have not put anything on the rashes and it just went away I am so pleased as I have plenty other to deal with. That is all that i can tell you. We have been having some terrible hot days here in Queensland Australia and I do water exercises and swim as much as my heart lets me. Take care God Bless Beverley
Guest guest
HI Beverly! Thanks for replying on the Zinc etc.. Very interesting. I pray that you continue to feel better. The Zinc has people baf- fled since it increases the immune system..Ya never know what in the world to take anymore. What helps one thing- hurts another. My daughter's A of the PA is worse in the winter--cold seems to go right through her bones. The sum- mer if bad for her because of the Fibro we figure. The bar0- metric pressure supposedly effects your system. Like temp- erature changes, humidity, rain etc.. Any feedback on that since you live in Australia where it's humid more than us United States guys have? Have a hopefully pain-free day everyone. I sure would question it.
Guest guest
Hi Pat Yes I Can say that the weather can make a difference I always know when it is going to rain and as soon as it rains the pain eases. The hot weather is certainly better for p/a and also any other arthritis but not good on the heart we have just had some really hot and humid day and today we have got a lovely south Easter blowing. Stress can play an awful part in p/a and p and fibro my specialist put me on deptran for the stress as well as the pain. I am just so pleased that I am as well as I am at the moment as I soon face a new pacemaker and I need to have no pain when I have to hold my arms above my head for a couple of hours just talking about it I feel pain (isn't silly). Well Pat well keep in touch some very interesting postings coming through. God Bless Beverley in Australia
Guest guest
Hi Roy I don't know if I answered your e-mail regarding the Zinc and other vitamins at the present I am not too bad but I have not got any p which is a miracle because I always had it on my fingers forehead elbows ears and many more private spot and at present none. I am hoping it stays that way. Hope you are having a pain free time and if not I hope the going is not to rough. Guest guest
Hi Beverley - Just an addendum to the " private " spots - without getting too graphic - Make sure those spots really are P. If they are in reality a yeast infection (Yes, yeast infections are not only " internal " they can be on the skin as well) and if you use a steriod cream on those spots, they will get WORSE not better! Check with your derm. or gyn. anyone who thinks the have P in the bikini area (males in the group - not sure if it's the same for men, but worth asking your derm. as you don't want to make it worse by treating a fungal infection with steriod)
