Guest guest
None of us can say if you are doing the right thing...that is between you and your doctor. It sure sounds like the PA has wreacked havoc on your feet... just as it has with my spine(I just had spinal surgery). The only other thing that I can do is to strongly recommend that after the surgery you seek out and get affiliated with a rheumatologist who is with a teaching hospital and who can get you on a good program of disease " prevention " . That may mean taking DMARDS- like methotrexate and the like. In my own opinion, if I had not been taking them for the last seven years, by now my hands would be deformed and I would be in a wheel chair. Instead, my hands are still working- even pretty sometimes, and I am walking - although with a cane sometimes!!! Good Luck with your surgery. Please feel free to ask us or me any questions you have about any treatments or medications- or whatever is on your mind regarding PA. No doubt there is someone in our group of over 300 PA'ers who has been there and done that, so to speak!! Best wishes, group founder
