33 Doctors and 33 Patients

The Lancet web site offers an extraordinary look at 33 diseases as

technically described by researchers/doctors, side-by-side with

personal accounts of how patients experienced those same illnesses

and their medical treatment. The priorities and experiences of each, as

we well know, can be very different. Although MCS, CFIDS, EI etc are

not specifically mentioned, the gap between doctor and patient can be

wide and deep even for diagnosable illnesses. The personal stories are

very compelling.

Click on the Supplement 2001 -- it's the one with the graphic of the

cover designed by an woman with autism. They offer full text for free for

this weeks issue. (They require a registration process but it is free).
