Guest guest
This is my first post on this group. I have a son that was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome. I have been working with a GF/CF diet as well as removal of all food additives, preservatives and colorings. We have a mainly vegetarian diet, food is mostly whole and homemade with very little processed food. We have been using goat or sheep dairy. If dairy is from cow we only use raw. We have recently started a new regime of enzymes after reading Go with Your Gut. I was previously using HNI products and decided to try Enzymedica as the effectiveness seemed to have dropped off significantly. My son is also taking magnesium at bedtime and zinc everyday. He uses a coconut oil cream with epsom salt as well (He is not very regular with this). We have been going slow as suggested in the book. We recently added GlutenEaze to what we were previously taking (V-Gest). I have noticed two issues with this regime that I am having difficulty with. Also been taking Lacto when he eats dairy which is not real often. Issue #1 The results I first saw with my son on this enzyme have lessened. I expected when we added the gluteneaze we would see some improvement again but have not. Do I need to switch to a different enzyme? Is there one that would fit our diet better? Perhaps it is something else like yeast? Issue #2 I have been doing this program with my son as I have IBS and constantly battle yeast, leaky gut and malabsorption. I did very well with the V-gest and saw some improvement for about a week but have been having very severe gas and bloating when I added the Gluten-eaze. This is severe enough it is preventing me from daily activities. I have been constipated as well. I just went out and bought Digest Gold thinking I might be getting too much protease with little other enzymes in the Gluteneaze. Am I going to quickly with the proteases? I have had lots of mucus in my stool (which I usually have but this is more than normal). Is this from die-off or something else? I hate to just stop the enzymes but I am miserable. I am hoping that some of you who have more experience with this especially the Enzymedica products would be able to give me some suggestions.
