I don't know if it will help, but I took my 8 years old Aspie son to rock climbing and he loved it, he started to do it every week, he is very low muscle tone, so it is helping tremendously, he also tried soccer, he hated it because of the frustration. He does swimming, horse riding very well, now basket-ball he loves it but he is so baaaaad at it, but I always encourage him to do what he likes. He wants to try Martial arts, we will see... but the rock climbing was a success, and it gives him that feeling of achievement and reaching a goal which he loves. Hope it helps somebody,

Never thought of that! Good idea. We have some excellent places in our area. I've never tried soccor and family and his IEP team suggested it, but somehow I don't think he'll like it, and will also lead to frustration more than be helpful.

martial arts and swimming are the only sports that my aspie daughter would do.. She isn't great at Martial Arts, but she has already achieved a red belt and it is good exercise. That is just below the brown belt. She has been in it 3 years. She also likes basketball just at home. She is barely 5' tall at 16 years old. From: Cathleen Veloria <cathleen.veloria@...>To:

Unfortunately my son HATES the feeling of water on his face, he actually screams during showers. Is your daughter ok with water? l arts is a good idea, do you think he can focus and stand at attention (ADHD too) and follow instruction? I guess I should just forget MY fears and try this stuff. We'll never know unless we try.

My daughter loves the water in swimming, hates it if it is used to shower, etc... (has real hygiene problems). In martial arts, it really depends on the instructor. It has to be someone who will work with different kids, and I would advise going to someone who needs the enrollment money! It is amazing how tolerant they can be if they need your tuition money.. Sounds cold, I am sure, but it is true. Someone who gets paid whether your child attends or not, will not tolerate an ADHD child. If their bills don't get paid until they provide a service, the instructor becomes so much more able to deal with the child. Actually martial arts is recommended by many professionals for ADHD children. Individual sports are the best as they compete against themselves. From: Cathleen Veloria <cathleen.veloria@...> Sent: Tue, January 4, 2011 3:39:07 PMSubject: Re: ( ) Re:sports

You might want to check to make sure that puppy is still in the house... if not, it's been LIFTED.  Those things are worth bucks. On Tue, Feb 22, 2011 at 1:25 AM, Gloria <gadamscan@...> wrote:

Hey, that reminds me.  I'll have to look around the old place tomorrow, because I know that the husband had a new Canucks jersey.  Suddenly I have to wonder, where did it go??

I sit in front of the big screen and YELL at the guys on the ice... even when I am home alone... Now I am not as bad as my step son who insists on wearing a game jersey during the games!  I only have one and it's a Blackhawks Jersey and I just got it this past October for my birthday...  nice jersey too.. the kind the players wear...  hubs got a deal!  My step son has Cubs jerseys in mass...  with numbers and names on them too..  each jersey is 300 bucks.  I have my one 800 dollar jersey that hubs got for 25 bucks!  I like mine the best!
