circus is probably quite a good description.

I don't think it hurts to get more than one opinion (especially if you don't

have to pay for one - they may offer more pieces of the puzzle.

A private evaluation will always be more thorough than the school evaluation.

Plus if you have a good neuropsychologist, he or she will outline the specific

strengths and challenges and give a detailed list of home and educational

recommendations (accommodations). You can use this as a blueprint for your IEP.

I've done this for both of my kids and our neuropsych said the best time to do

so is just before entering first grade.

We actually used the school and a referral from the pediatrician and both came up with Aspergers along with anxiety and ADHDAmy Spikings ( ) School eval vs private one

not so sure - our psychiatrist initially thought our son had ADHD. I took

questionairre to school and had 3 teachers fill out. They ticked low scores.
