Guest guest
Hi, can you please help me with the DDI hair test results of my son? this is his first hair test. Small history: we started chelation when he was 3,5 yo with TD – DMPS with nice cognitive results and good pulls of all the metals except mercury for which we saw only very small pulls (urine and fecal metals) but the tests were random, every 3 / 4 months or more and it took us some tests to understand that my son was excreting mainly through his feces, so I don't have an exact picture of the excretions, if matters…. After 22 months with TD – DMPS, on last january we decided to stop for big yeast problems and a bad rash on his arms. During this period of break we implemented his supplements for chelation following Andy's instructions, we changed his yeast protocol with one more effective, we made the following hair test and the porphyrins test in France. The French test suggests a remarkable mercury toxic effect, so we already know that my son is mercury toxic and even if his autism is milder after almost 2 years in chelation he still has autism, also after we collected the hair samples for this test since mid – april we made 5 rounds of chelation with ALA only, 5mg every 3 hours/4 hours by night, 3 days ON / 11 days OFF and we already saw good gains and only some minor side effects, so I know this is our way to go. Regarding the hair test, I understand it's suspicious for meeting the counting rule n.° 1, I'm studying Andy's books at the moment, but English is not my mother – language and I'd like to hear your wise opinions especially about: thyroid? (seems a little low to me but I don't know how to proceed in curing it). I see lead is in the green, but do you think it's wise to add from time to time to the ALA rounds also low doses of DMSA just in case of hidden lead in the bones? In your experience do you think this is a rather good profile or you think my son has still a very long way to go with chelation? Other thoughts? Thanks a lot for your time! Guest guest
Are you looking at the " scatter pattern " in the files? REALLY important for understanding hair tests. Barb [ ] help with hair test results Hi everyone, I originally started reading messages on this board because of my mother, who is mercury toxic; being worried for her, I recently ordered hair tests for my two kids to check their status. Neither of them are autistic but both have food sensitivities (gluten, casein, corn for my son; gluten for my daughter). My son's results (he's 4) are fairly normal (in the yellow for arsenic only) but my daughter's results (she just turned 2) are in the yellow for a number of toxic elements (aluminum, antimony, arsenic, lead, mercury, silver, and tin) and almost in the red for a number of essential elements. I have posted the pdf of her results in the files section under hair test results (Suvajdzic, Kaya). While I realize that her results are not catastrophic and most likely do not point to mercury toxicity, I am worried that some of her levels are as high as they are. My two kids have pretty much the same diet, same daily schedule, etc, so I'm wondering why my daughter's results are so much higher than my son's. The only difference is that my daughter is still nursing, so I'm worried that the toxicity is coming from me (I didn't test myself, since from what I understand breastfeeding skews results). My mom is mercury toxic, and I do have 5 amalgams. All of the people on this board are so knowledgeable; I have learned so much from just reading your posts. Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction with this? Should I try chelation with her? Try supplements alone and test again in three months? Wean her immediately? Is there some way to find out if the toxicity really is coming from me? I'd appreciate any info you could give me. Carseats, strollers, etc are full of arsenic and antimony. Check www.danasview.net/metals for sources of exposure and reduce/remove. Guest guest
Comments below.... My mom is mercury toxic, and I do have 5 > amalgams. (snipped) ....I wanted to comment on the breastfeeding. I did two hair tests for my migraine girl...I had baby hair saved, she was 2yo at time of tests...her baby hair results were waaayyy high, her 2yo results looked more " normal. " She nursed to very close to 4yo...I did alot of info slams...I found the " scary " info...I found no balancing info - no one is looking for the " positives. " It is all negative investigating - which does not provide a big enough picture...For me, bits and pieces of info, like learning about fluoride issues & then learning that the more fluoride in environment, the less in breastmilk - helped me " keep faith " in body smarts...which I totally believe in....I have a filling, and a history of other myriad toxic exposures, and I did worry quite a bit...but at this end of it, I continue to believe nursing was the " best " answer...and, my opinion is that if the alternative is commercial formulas/milk, then nursing is the better option....I did take add'l supps with her needs in mind, while nursing...that was sooo nice...getting supps in place with her is Hard...lol.. Additionally, my two migraine kids (4yo & 16yo, and the youngest of the whole bunch) were the " longest " nursers. They are the two, who while I was pregnant/nursing, I can confirm acute and chronic toxic exposures. (for example, cleanup of a broken fluor. light) They are the only two, who would not have, at any point, been put on the " autism spectrum. " imho....The other three, certainly could have, and could be put on the spectrum - more high functioning some years than others, but definitely would qualify...again, imho. Sooo, I still lean towards nursing - Whenever there is an ability & a desire to do so. fwiw wishing you the best answers elizabeth
Guest guest
There are five counting rules. If she's meets ANY of them it's likely she's mercury toxic. S S Re: help with hair test results Posted by: " carriesuvajdzic " carriesuvajdzic@... carriesuvajdzic Sat Mar 8, 2008 11:15 pm (PST) Many thanks to all who replied. I am looking for scattered results and it seems to me that that is what I am seeing, but nothing for my daughter is in the red zone and from what I understand that's where you look. Her mercury is .6, though, when " normal " range is less than ..4, so she's already 50% higher than acceptable and of course no amount of mercury is good. That is one reason why I am considering chelation, besides just the large number of various toxic substances she's showing in the yellow for. She has not had any vaccinations since she was 1 yr old (a year ago) so I wouldn't think that those old ones would show up as recent exposure on the hair test, unless I'm mistaken. Interesting idea to send breast milk in for testing...I will call DDI and see how I could work that out. I'm overseas so I don't know how quickly I could get it there without it going bad. I am not totally against weaning her--she is plenty old enough now that she doesn't really NEED to nurse, but I hate the idea of forcefully weaning when she isn't ready, especially since I'm not 100% sure that the toxins are coming from me. Aggghhh so much to think about! _______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web!
