Guest guest
Hi, everyone- I am a 53 yo woman dealing with Lyme disease, fungus, candidiasis, and constipation. I have been fortunate in finding a friend in Alison F. Alison suggested that I ask this forum for solutions for my present predicament. I was told by my health care practioner that Florastor would be alright to take. After 2 doses I find myself exptremely constipated and dehydrated. I now see the package insert says that it can cause 'mild' constipation and thirst. I am very frightened. My gut is very fragile. I see that there is a warning of some cases of fungelmia. I have upped my doses of magnesium. I am also taking Vit. C. Has anyone had a similar experience or have any ideas to resolve my gut issues. I was told not to do any more colonics. Thank you, Debbie
Guest guest
You may want to consider the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. A google search will find lots of information on the web. The SCD yogurt will give more beneficial probiotics, and more viable, than most capsule or powder supplements. If a person is not tolerating dairy the suggestion is to start with goat's milk yogurt (and there are recipes on line). The SCD is designed to feed the host (you) and beneficial organisms well and starve the problem organisms. Increasing Mg and vit C should help with the constipation. There may be other 'gut healing' supplements to consider such as glutamine, glycine, CLO, arginine.
