Guest guest
I want to extend my regrets for getting so behind on membership and personal inquiries. In early June, my father-in-law became chronically ill with colitis, was critically ill going in and out of the hospital, and recently passed away. He had been fairly healthy for his age, 79, until then. His colon and lower intestines became so inflammed that he literally could not absorb any nutrition or water. He basically starved to death over a few months. This past year and a half has been a very guelling time, especially for my husband, whose mother passed away last winter as well. At times we may think poor digestive health is a an uncomfortable inconvenience but it is things like this that serve as a reminder that it can also have very serious consequences. So once again, I will be catching up on mail, both on the board and individually. Imediate areas of focus will also be updates on: - new enzyme products and technologies that have come out - straightening out some of the 'creative' information being circulated about enzymes and enzyme therapy - initiating the next enzymes and virus study - new resources for enzyme information and nutrition Some positive notes include that enzymes continue to grow as a category and recognized therapy! This summer First magazine had a feature article on it and " enzymes " were blazened across the cover on grocery store newsstands. Most conferences have talks on enzyme therapy, research increases, and more emphasis on development and education continues. The very popular Enzymes for Autism book will coming into its sixth printing this fall and will be released as a second edition. The Enzymes Go With Your Gut book is being used as a first-line practical how-to book for enzymes and gut nutrition. And several other enzyme/nutrition books have come out these past couple years. I will be speaking and doing a panel discussion at the Weston Price conference in Indianapolis this Saturday, September 22, for anyone in that area. It is the Nourishing Our Children conference from 8:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Information at the following web site: http://www.nourishingourchildren.com/ DeFelice www.enzymestuff.com
