After epidural, everything sounded robotic, metallic -- could this have effected my son?

When I was in labor with my son, the 2nd shot of the epidural left me in an

absolute panic. The TV was on in my room and my husband was sound asleep

(as he was up for 36+ hours working) - everything on the TV sounded like

robots were talking all of a sudden within 45 seconds of getting that 2nd

shot. I woke my husband up to have him talk to me as well and he also

sounded robotic. They immediately called the anesthesiologist and he

thought I had a metallic taste in my mouth and had never heard of the

hearing issue. It did disappear after a little while.. Don't know why I

thought of this today, but it has me wondering, what kind of effect was

this?? And could this epidural have harmed my son?
